Work for Your Dreams /// A Friday Photo Prompt

When dreams lead the way the impossible is suddenly in sight
And every step you take just brings it all together
You gotta keep the faith when all seems lost forever

(“Dreams” by Diana DeGarmo)

We all have dreams. You may call them ideas, goals, your future, but they are really all dreams. Thoughts and hopes. They are all dreams. It seems that “dreaming” has become more and more a part of people’s everyday vocabulary. There are t-shirts that read “Dreamer,” graphic prints that read “Dream Big,” “If your dreams don’t scare you they aren’t big enough,” or “never let go of your dreams.” All very inspiring.

The word dream has an imaginative and powerful connotation. But what do you do with a dream? Keep it in your head? Of course not, but what?

A dream is just a dream until you make it a plan. Make a plan. What is something you can do today that will push you closer to making that dream a reality?

Dreaming can become over-glamorized. Being a dreamer sounds so creative and innovative. But what do you do when you no longer have the motivation to pursue that dream? Dreaming is easy, but bringing dreams into the realm of reality, now that takes work.

If you find yourself lacking motivation, be encouraged knowing dreams are not supposed to be easy. They take work for everyone. Many times we fool ourselves into thinking that other people were able to make their dreams come true by mere brain power. No, it takes real, hard, sometimes discouraging work. The people who see their dreams come true are the ones who worked for it and, most importantly, didn’t quit when they wanted to.  K E E P   G O I N G .

This weekend post a picture of you pursuing your dreams, reminding yourself of your dreams, or just something that is motivating you to not give up on your dreams. Celebrate your dreams, because they are yours, unlike any other’s.
